However, they are less energy efficient as compared to LCD, and as the LCD price dropped, they have now become public choice. In the mid-2010’s, LED TV sets became popular. Both LED, and LCD technology is similar, but LED uses a liquid crystal display panel that is composed of polarizing material sheets with a crystal solution between them. It gives wider viewing angles, superb picture quality, and incredible HDR performance to the viewers.

Edge-lit panel is the common design theme that has lamps around the edge of the TV screen. They are thinner and more energy efficient.

OLED Vs. LED
OLED (made with organic compounds) stands for “organic light-emitting diode.” As compared to LEDs, OLED TVs are extremely thin, flexible, energy-efficient, and even rollable. Also, when it comes to black levels (the crucial factor in achieving the best picture quality), OLED is the champion. It allows deeper blacks, richer colors, and thus a more dazzling and realistic image. Whereas LED TVs struggled to produce dark blacks and, most of the time, suffer from an effect called “light bleed.” Furthermore, the lighter sections of the LED TV screen create a haze in adjacent darker areas. So, OLED sounds like a better choice for us.
